We Are Developing A Learning Culture
Our teachers work with each individual child to develop their sense of self-worth. We encourage children to care, co-operate, feel valued, listen, respect each other, create, explore, question but, above all, have fun and be happy. There is a strong emphasis on developing a resilient child whilst being mindful that self esteem and support are paramount in this process.
Our conscientious staff always keep parents informed of their child's progress with individual parent teacher appointments set throughout the year.
Our very well equipped purpose built kindergarten room is warm and inviting. The new playground provides children with the opportunity to explore, share and squeal with delight as they play and discover themselves and each other. We have a strong focus on the "natural world" and our part in it.

Meaningful Experiences Our 3 and 4 year old programs focus on the creative arts - movement, dance, drama, music and art. Detailed folios keep a record of your child's experiences - both at kindergarten and home - integrating both aspects of their busy lives. Teachers are better able to facilitate meaningful learning experiences where such dialogue occurs.
There are also special events throughout the year, including:
  • Visitors who have special skills such as doctors, dentists, fire fighters, bakers and people from our community.
  • Excursions to places of interest linked to the learning program such as Collingwood Children's Farm, Botanical Gardens, Zoo and Local Shops.
  • Special family and cultural occasions, such as Grandparents Day, Father's Day and Mother's Day.

Inspire, Investigate, Imagine
Our teachers recognise that children learn best when they experience the world first hand, using their senses. Thus, a program rich in sensory experiences is provided everyday.
We provide opportunities for children to immerse themselves in the creative arts - exploring and discovering in the process.
    Some of these are:
  • MOVEMENT AND DANCE - Children are given opportunity to think creatively, exploring space and using fantasy and their imagination to express themselves. Small groups enable children to feel less inhibited and thus more meaningful experiences are shared. Individual and group activities involve listening to, and interpreting inspiring music of various tempos and styles.
  • MUSIC - Children experience musical activities including listening, singing, finger plays, games, performances and discovery of different musical instruments.
  • DRAMA - Children are given opportunities to represent real life experiences and fantasies through pretending and role playing. They will be encouraged to be creative and imaginative in using materials and in assuming different roles. Where will our imaginations lead us? . . . .We also include specialist programs in the dramatic realm, what an experience this is!
  • ART - Children explore differing art experiences and use a range of materials to express their emotions, imagination and individuality. Children have opportunities to plan and work independently, creating works that reflect their experiences, ideas, feelings or fantasies encouraging literacy in the process.
